Jan Muës is not only a musician, but a gifted painter as well. While living in Antwerp, he also studied painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

There, he developed his unique imaginative style, which he uses to this very day to create his magic-realistic paintings and drawings. Playful, tongue in cheek and narrative are but a few of the characteristics that describe his work. Every painting tells a story that is based on Jan's own experiences.

Airplanes and puppets feature frequently in his work. Since childhood, Jan has endowed these objects with a symbolic and near magical importance.
